When choosing a roofing contractor there are some things you should keep in mind. It is our first instinct to choose a company who can get it done cheaper than any other contractor. I caution you when taking this approach in picking a company because they have the cheapest price.
Here are a few things you should know or have been answered during your estimate phase of your roofing project.
Know what make up your estimate such as labor, materials and time to complete. How many roofers will be on the project is directly proportionate to how long it takes to complete providing weather does not play a part and let’s face it, weather affects everything on the outside. If you don’t know ask, how many roofers will be on your project? Material type and availability will affect the cost of the project. Lastly ask how long it will take for your job to be completed once it is started.
A company’s reputation has something to say about their work. When picking a company that you want to do your roofing project their reputation is their livelihood. This does not mean that a company with 5 star rating is the best company to go with nor does it mean that a company with 3 star or lower is the worst company. While online reviews are helpful in making your choice they are not the end all solution for picking that company
Lastly it is important that the company you choose can provide you with necessary paper work to do your project. Business license, general liability and bonded if required are just as important to your project as the reputation of the company. Every roofing company should be able to provide you with all the necessary papers to satisfy the ability to do the work requested.
